coming soonVolunteer Chapter Members Stained Glass window Volunteers are the principal "action arms" of the national organization, working to promote the ideas and ideals identified in the Foundation's mission to "teach Americans about America" at the grass roots level in communities across the country. It is the volunteer who uses his or her own associations in the community to reach out to parents, students and teachers with information about our national heritage, the contribution of the free enterprise system to the economic strength of our country, the core values of our nation, and the balance between citizens' rights and responsibilities in a free society. It is the volunteer, who, through personal example, encourages all people to step forward to assume inherent responsibilities of good citizenship. Projects, Awards, Ceremonies Volunteer Chapters conduct, throughout the year, projects that raise awareness of the civics of responsible government and the necessity for all to participate in their community's life. The projects include special events on national holidays, meetings to share community plans and programs, award ceremonies to recognize citizens working hard for their country and fund raising programs to help local chapters and the national organization carry out their programs. Chapters also educate their communities about Freedoms Foundation by sponsoring school programs, guest speakers, living history events, and film presentations. Scholarships Through fund raising efforts, many Chapters provide scholarships to students or teachers for education opportunities at the Foundation's Valley Forge campus. YOUR CHANCE Becoming a Freedoms Foundation Volunteer Chapter Member is your opportunity to work for a stronger America shoulder to shoulder with others who are committed to the American way of life. We are a family of volunteers who want to see our nation remain strong and free for generations to come. |
