Student Programs & Opportunities

Freedoms Foundation and the Sacramento Chapter offer many opportunities to students of all ages to learn about their heritage and to gain valuable experience in leadership development and community service.

The programs offered by our parent organization include the Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program (SOA), Service Learning in Public Policy (SLiPP), the FFVF Student Advisory Council.  

            

2021 Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program (SOA)

Application Deadline December 1, 2020

In this four-day conference, high school students interact with experts on citizenship, democracy, the judiciary, the political process, and the free enterprise system.  The program  includes thought-provoking lectures, historical tours, and experiential workshops, all designed to develop leadership skills and deepen an understanding of the rights and responsibilities  of engaged citizenship.

2021 Sacramento Chapter Essay Contest

 

2021 Essay Topic: “What happens when a community no longer respects private property?”

 

The Sacramento Chapter of Freedoms Foundation essay contest is open to K-12 students in the Sacramento Area.  Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded to winning students in the elementary, middle and high school divisions. Deadline for essay submission is Jan 15, 2021.  Students applying for the Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program should submit essays with their application which is due December 1, 2020.

Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded to our winners at our annual Awards Banquet (Date TBA).  Winners of the 2020 national contest will also be recognized.
