Each year, parents across the country entrust thousands of students to us. We take the health and safety of those students as seriously as we do their civic education.
As Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has metastasized into a global pandemic, we have carefully monitored and fully implemented applicable recommendations from the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Pennsylvania Department of Health, and local health departments. Pursuant to those recommendations, we’ve been taking exhaustive precautions. We’re confident that a student’s risk of contracting any communicable disease on our private, secluded, 75-acre campus is extremely low.
But we can’t control the risk of exposure while traveling to or from Valley Forge, particularly for those who need to fly long distances. It appears that those risks are material and increasing—not only for students, but for all who come to our campus.
Accordingly, we are postponing and rescheduling all Spirit of America Youth Leadership Programs for the next two months, other than the one presently underway (which will continue through its scheduled completion this Sunday). Likewise, we will postpone and reschedule our annual gala, originally scheduled for April 1.
For History Encounters and other events and programs, we are cooperating with schools and other sponsoring organizations to accommodate requests to postpone and reschedule.
Our education and development teams are already reaching out to participants with more information. Please check our website for updates.
Thank you for your continued support.
