Remembering Kim DeBlase

Long Time Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge Staff Member

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Kim DeBlase.  Kim passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 24th.  We offer our condolences to her family and mourn the loss of our friend.

For over a decade Kim was the point of contact for so many teachers and elementary school staff and students attending a Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge program. It is an understatement to say that Kim handled matters such as registrations and logistics for the foundation’s many educational programs. She was in fact a logistics guru known for her ability to develop itineraries for multi-day educational programs. From her desk she took teachers on excursions to important historical sites between Atlanta and Little Rock without a hitch. Fifth graders spent days at the foundation unaware that it was Kim who put together extensive field excursions or that she engaged historical interpreters who so fascinated them. Medal of Honor Recipients found their way to the foundation to engage with teachers and high school students because of her.  It was so very much like Kim to be quietly behind the scenes taking care of the details and making sure the important things actually happened.

Kim will be missed by her Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge family and friends.  We thank her for her service and wish her peace.
