What You Learn
TRAVELING WORKSHOP
Over six days, participants will explore various aspects of the physical history associated with the American Revolution in the southern United States. Each day will be a combination of visiting and exploring important sites combined with lectures, group discussions and other pedagogical activities.
Teachers will visit such sites as King’s Mountain, Cowpens, Alamance, Guilford Courthouse, and Yorktown Battlegrounds to explore the military history associated with the American Revolution in the southern states. These visits will allow participants to explore the political, social, economic, and even some of the medical history associated with the southern colonies. By walking in the footsteps of history at sites so foundational to winning the American Revolution, teachers will obtain a concrete experience of history that combined with content knowledge and pedagogy will enliven their classrooms and inspire their students.
