Creating a Legacy for Tomorrow

Students gathered around 1700s solider at Valley Forge

A gift to Freedoms Foundation’s Legacy Society ensures that we can reach more students and teachers, maintain our 75-acre campus, and provide the infrastructure necessary to carry out our mission for years to come.

We honor your altruism, advocating for our rights, freedom, and the support of future generations in their pursuit of civic responsibility as citizens. Through your tax-deductible donation benefits, you may yield more in return for your loved ones.

Ways to Give, Today, and Tomorrow

Bequest

A bequest is usually a set dollar amount or percentage of an estate included in your will that goes to a nonprofit. “I bequeath ($X or X% of my estate) to Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, a nonprofit corporation as described in section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code, with national headquarters located at 1601 Valley Forge Road, Valley Forge, PA 19481, EIN 23-1657857.

Real Estate, Securities, and Personal Property

In addition to a cash gift from your estate, your Legacy gift can be real estate, stocks, bonds, or personal property (including artwork, collectibles, etc.). Proceeds from selling these items would support the mission of Freedoms Foundation.

Insurance

There are two ways to make a Legacy gift through your life insurance policy. You can also name Freedoms Foundation as a beneficiary of your life insurance or donate the policy to Freedoms Foundation and name us as beneficiaries. This method allows FFVF the option of cashing in the policy upon donation or allowing the value to continue to grow.

Retirement Plan

You can name Freedoms Foundation as the beneficiary of a portion or all of your IRA, 401(k), or other Retirement Plans. These can be the most heavily taxed portion of many estates, so a tax-deductible Legacy gift means your heirs may avoid income and estate tax.

Charitable Gift Annuity

A Charitable Gift Annuity allows you to transfer an irrevocable gift of cash or securities to Freedoms Foundation in exchange for a fixed income payment for life. Moreover, this gift plan entitles the donor to an immediate charitable income tax deduction. At the end of its term, the Charitable Gift Annuity balance goes to support the mission. Consult your financial advisor to learn more about this Legacy giving option.

What legacy donors are saying about our program

Passing on the Lessons of My Father

“My father taught me to value our American principles of freedom. He always felt teaching these principles to young people was imperative, but he never found the right institution to support in his will. When I discovered Freedoms Foundation and the impact it has on teaching young people, I knew it was the perfect way to honor my father’s love of freedom. As a retired middle school teacher, I was happy to name Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge as the beneficiary of my teacher’s retirement plan to make a gift from my trust in honor of my father. Not having children of my own, I’m thrilled to help ensure that future generations of young citizens will learn the same lessons my father taught me. “

Passing on the Ideas We Hold Most Dear to Those We Hold Most Dear

“My family and I decided last year to support the Freedoms Foundation with a commitment from our estate. Past generations had shared hardships – wars, economic depressions, disease – that tested American resilience and proved our system to be, as the modern philosopher Taleb calls it, Antifragile. Each time our nation has faced excruciating challenges, it has rebounded, and been stronger for it. And I believe that our devotion to the principles enshrined in the Declaration and the Constitution is the reason why. We have six children and we are deeply concerned that, without this organization, a small but loud faction could seize their entire generation with a distorted story about our origin. Our estate commitment to the Freedoms Foundation is our way of passing the ideas we hold most dear to those we hold most dear.”
